When Network Marketers join my mailing lists I always ask them what their number 1 question or concern is about MLM (A.K.A Network Marketing) so that I can address the issues that are most important to my followers. The likelihood is that their questions about the MLM industry are the same as yours, especially if you are not already seeing the results that you are striving for in your business. I have decided to share some of the most common MLM questions that I get asked with you, along with my responses and recommendations, in the hope that this will help you to move your own business forward. Today’s question is ‘What should I write about on my MLM blog?’

If you are in MLM and you don’t have you r own blog yet then you could be missing out on a ton of traffic and leads! A blog is like your own piece of real estate on the web and without it you are a bum! I mean that in the nicest possible way … but how else do you expect people to get to know you and learn what you and your business are all about?

Personally I love writing and enjoy creating and editing videos, so blogging has always come relatively easily to me, but I appreciate that for some people it can be difficult actually putting pen to paper and creating content. So today I am going to give you some pointers and suggestions about how you can create content for an MLM blog.

Firstly, here are some general pointers. If you are writing articles for the first time I have found the best length is usually 400 to 500 words (enough information to peak peoples’ interest, but not so much that they stop reading and don’t get to your links at the bottom!) Also, the best articles are written conversationally and so correct grammar and punctuation is not that important! For videos, 2 to 4 minutes is ideal for the same reasons given above.

Next up is the topic! To begin with I suggest using your articles and videos to tell your story. Everything you learn and experience you should blog about. When I started out I set myself a 90 day challenge where I created 90 videos in 90 days. By doing that I forced myself to learn something new every day. In those 90 days I discussed everything from building websites and blogs to generating traffic using list builders and Solo Ads and everything in between! I also learned a lot about marketing with Twitter and Facebook and kept pushing myself to find new and timely information. Some days it was hard to produce videos, but that was part of the challenge … it wouldn’t be called a challenge if it wasn’t challenging!

I just finished writing an email to a friend and fellow Network Marketer who was struggling to produce content for his MLM blog. He told me how he had just finished creating business opportunity video presentations to leverage his time, but was still finding it difficult to create content for his MLM blog. Here is what I recommended to my friend:

“ … why don’t you write an article on leveraging using video presentations? You could talk about how using video technologies removes the need to present and talk about how they can be used by your team to present too. It’s just an idea, but you now have experience of creating video for that purpose and you can tell people about it! You might be able to stretch it and get 2 or 3 short articles out of it!”

Hopefully this advice will be useful to you too when you come to creating content for your own MLM blog!

Today’s question is ‘What if I don’t have time to build a successful business?’

Time is an issue for many people. Time is our most valuable asset and nobody wants to spend their time on activities that have little value or benefit. I understand why some people get frustrated by the Network Marketing industry because it is not uncommon for Newbies to spend weeks, months or even years trying to build a business with little or no results. You can understand why that might leave a bad taste in someone’s mouth, right?!

It is important to clarify the difference between wasting time and investing time. Wasted time is spent on activities which are unproductive or pointless, or even hamper progress. In actual fact, there are very few activities which have no befit, as everyone needs to rest and recuperate in order to perform at their best. Some people do this by socialising and others by relaxing, but this is still an important part of achieving your potential (as long as you are productive when you do get to work!)

Investing time is what we all need to be doing. You can invest your time to improve your knowledge and understanding and hence, your value to others. You might also invest time to network on and offline with potential business partners and this is an essential component for success in this industry. These activities are most definitely not a waste of time. The goal for most Network Markers is to invest time now to free up a lot more free time in the future, which can then be spent with friends and family and doing the things that we all enjoy in life. That’s the goal … that’s the ultimate dream!

So, you’re probably wondering how you can use your time more efficiently to achieve results faster aren’t you? Well, my aim has always been to provide people with tools and resources to do just that! I have written ebooks to help to educate people about the industry and how to succeed in Network Marketing. After all, this is a business of sharing information! I have produced step by step training tutorials for everything from goal setting to blogging and using capture pages and auto-responders, and everything in between. I have done this because that is the type of education that people need to succeed in this industry and to be honest, without it, failure is quite likely! I have even taken on the responsibility of training everyone in my downline, regardless of whether or not I have personally sponsored them and automation using the technology available to us all has enabled me to do just that! Again, I have had to learn how to automate my team’s training, which required an investment of time and a certain amount of hard work!

My advice to you is to spend your time learning about the industry and marketing on and offline. This will increase your net worth and value to others, and will actually attract go-getters to you. Once you know what works, assume the responsibility of helping and training others. Regardless of how much time you invest on these types of activities, you will reap the reward of more free time further down the road. Remember you have to sow before you can reap!
